NVIDIA 3D Glasses – useless with notebook

Yesterday I bought HDMI->DVI cable to connect my laptop Asus N73SV to Samsung SyncMaster 2233 (3D Vision ready monitor with 120Hz). For several years I didn’t use NVIDIA 3D Glasses at all but I decided to try to use it with my notebook, while I am at my Ukrainian home for now. But without success.

As I found, very few notebooks work with NVIDIA 3D glasses (with USB-emitter) because of Optimus technology. It is not possible to set 120Hz frame rate for external output device. And you can’t to turn it off. It’s a pity. And my plans to play some old games in 3D glasses are canceled. Ok, ok… I will continue to search for action in my work 🙂

Thereby it is nothing to do but to wait when consumer version on Oculus Rift will be released. By the way, what about you? Will you buy it? 🙂
