Unexpectedly, I came across such an advertisement on YouTube, on which I “stuck”. 🙂 It turns out that for a very long time there was such a group as “Flexible Chaplin” – “an alcoholic music laboratory for those suffering from metaphysical addiction” (c).

And I got out in the form of an advertisement a week ago, the released video “I am addressing”. Here is this combination of footage and music, editing, etc. very strongly distinguishes them from all the others. But not everyone will like such creativity.

A few days ago, finally, I got around to testing code uploading to ESP8266 controllers (as ESP-12E). This is not so easy like it is with Arduino and Wemos D1 Mini. 🙂

I decided to do everything on the breadboard. USB-TTL programmer on 3V (CP2102), two buttons to switch the controller to firmware mode. And the ESP-12 itself [hangs well] on wires.

In the photo: I turned on three DHT22 modules (temperature / humidity sensor) simultaneously to calibrate (and check) their accuracy. BTW, maximum discrepancies turned out to be no more than 1 degree.

If you are using perl Template::Toolkit you can get this error in output:

Template Toolkit output: Wide character in print at /usr/local/lib/perl5/....mach/Template.pm line xxx

It’s usually because you have some Unicode characters like “ ’ — etc in your templates.

To avoid this you should:

1. use on input utf-8 encoded (with BOM) template files
2. add –binmode:=utf8 to args when calling ttree (ex: ttree –binmode:=utf8 -f tree.cfg)

Conclusion #1: this is an absolute piece of sh**. Not better than recording on a mobile phone camera.

In this video, I set better color saturation in Sony Vegas and little more sharpness. But the result is not much better.

Conclusion #2: Cam-coder without polarizing filter – very bad idea for shiny Thailand. Too much of glares and reflections.

Today tried to fix shutter button on my Canon PowerShot S100. I thought may be some grain of sand prevent button working in some situations (and it’s very irritatingly).

Checked all up – nothing. And even work like a new one while it without front cover. After assembling – again – some times shutter did not work after pressing (but very seldom now).

Decided to google it. Found that it’s common problem for this S100 model.
